Quang Nam Province's Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department initially discovered the large-scale gambling operation. The provincial police then collaborated with the Ministry of Public Security and Da Nang City Police to dismantle the ring.

On 21/6, police conducted raids and searches of the ringleaders' residences and summoned over 30 other individuals across multiple provinces. Seized items included 35 mobile phones, two tablets, a laptop, two cars, 50 million VND in cash, over 15,000 pages of data, and various other documents.
The investigation revealed the ring operated through the website agbong88.com, with gamblers placing bets via bong88.com. The group used encrypted messaging apps for communication and transaction coordination.
Analysis of digital data showed that from April to June, the ring facilitated over 100,000 bets, exceeding 350 billion VND in transactions.
