Quitting job to plan to seriously injure colleague

To carry out his plan for revenge against a colleague, Cu Van An, 33, quit his job beforehand and then brought a knife to the rental room to commit the crime.

On 25/4, Quang Ninh Provincial Police announced the arrest of Cu Van An, a Ninh Binh resident, in coordination with Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, for intentional injury.

Initial investigations revealed that since early 2025, An had been a worker at the Aeon Mall Ha Long construction site in Bai Chay ward. During his employment, he developed a severe conflict with a 35-year-old colleague from Phu Tho.

To carry out his revenge, An proactively resigned from his job. Around 11:00 on 24/4, knowing his colleague was at their rental room, he brought a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times before taking a vehicle and fleeing Quang Ninh province. The victim collapsed at the scene with severe injuries.

Recognizing this as a serious case, with a dangerous perpetrator who posed a risk of committing further crimes while on the run, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Police deployed elite forces to track his movements.

By early morning on 25/4, authorities located the suspect hiding in Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province. Coordination information was immediately relayed to local police to tighten the perimeter.

At 2:30 am on 25/4, the task force raided An’s hideout in Kim De village, Ha Trung commune, and apprehended him.
