On 12/6, Ca Mau provincial police temporarily detained the woman to investigate intentional injury.

According to the investigation, the woman lived with her son in a rental room in Vinh Trach ward. At noon on 25/3, while cooking, the mother allegedly struck her son's face forcefully. She was reportedly frustrated because the boy was running around the kitchen and not listening. The blow caused the boy to fall, hitting his head on the tiled floor.

Following the incident, the boy showed unusual symptoms but was only taken to the hospital for treatment on 29/3. During examination, doctors found several suspicious signs of child abuse and reported them to the authorities. Despite medical efforts, the boy died.
