Spa employees in Bui Vien "Western Street" found engaging in prostitution

During inspections of four spas and massage parlors in the "Western Street" area, police discovered many female employees selling sex, including to foreign clients.

On 12/1, Ben Thanh Ward Police, formerly of District 1, arrested Ms. Phuong, 54, and several others to investigate charges of pimping.

Previously, Ben Thanh Ward Police simultaneously inspected business establishments on De Tham, Bui Vien, and Pham Ngu Lao streets, an area known as the "Western Street". During these inspections, officers discovered numerous couples engaged in sex acts. Investigators seized various documents, ledgers, and cash related to the illegal activities.

Police identified Ms. Phuong as the mastermind behind the operation, running multiple spas that were disguised as beauty service providers to organize prostitution. The proprietress assigned roles to managers and cashiers, who were responsible for collecting fees and handling both cash and bank transfer payments.

Investigators are currently clarifying the roles of all individuals involved in the case.
