Teenage girl assaulted in her rented room

A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in her rented room by Le Van Dung.

On 15/7, Ninh Binh provincial police detained Le Van Dung, 39, from Thanh Hoa province, for investigation of rape.

According to the 17-year-old victim’s report to Thanh Nam ward police, at approximately 9:30 AM on 10/7, she was alone in her rented room in Thanh Nam ward when a strange man snuck in. He overpowered her, threatened her into silence, and then sexually assaulted her.

Police later identified the suspect as Dung, a porter working at the Pham Ngu Lao night market.

Dung confessed to the crime during police questioning.
