Ca Mau police and Cai Doi Vam commune police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and securing it. Investigative units are examining the scene, verifying the victim's identity, and investigating the cause of death. Residents gathered nearby.

Observations by authorities indicate a sharp object caused the wound on the victim's neck. Investigators suspect someone murdered the teenage girl and then threw her into the pond.
