Kien Cuong Phat real estate director arrested

Tran Van Kien, director of Kien Cuong Phat Real Estate, is accused of selling project land plots, failing to develop them, and instead using the money for personal expenses, allegedly defrauding over 100 billion VND.

On 31/12, Dong Nai provincial police temporarily detained Tran Van Kien, 39, and his deputy Pham Khac Hoc, 36, to investigate acts of property fraud.

According to the investigation, for several years after establishing the Ruby City Urban Area project in Dong Xoai ward (formerly Binh Phuoc province), Kien and Hoc leveraged the legal entity of Kien Cuong Phat Real Estate Company Limited to gain customer trust and sign contracts for land plots within the project.

After customers transferred money, Kien and Hoc allegedly misappropriated approximately 100 billion VND, using it for personal purposes. To date, the company has failed to transfer land use rights to customers as agreed and is unable to refund hundreds of victims.

Dong Nai police urge individuals who purchased plots in the project to contact the Economic Police Department for guidance and to ensure their legal rights and interests.
