Le Minh Si, 15, and Le Phuoc Giau, 16, both from Phan Thiet ward, surrendered to police early this morning, two days after allegedly stabbing Huynh Cong Minh Duong, 18, to death. The incident occurred around 11:50 PM on 25/1 at Trung Trac Park, near the Ca Ty river. Police identified Si and Giau as the direct perpetrators.

On the afternoon of 27/1, Lam Dong Provincial Police took Si and Giau, along with others involved, to the park to reconstruct the crime scene. The murder shocked the coastal town of Phan Thiet, drawing hundreds of residents to the riverbank. Security in the area was tightened.

The fatal confrontation began when Duong was sitting with three friends on steps by the Ca Ty river. A group of six unfamiliar teenagers suddenly appeared.

Two individuals from this group approached Duong's friends and provoked them without reason. During a heated exchange, the group used a knife to stab Duong multiple times. He attempted to block the attack with a helmet but was unsuccessful and died shortly after.
