Woman surrenders after investing 5 billion dong in fake luxury bag sales

Pham Thi Kim Xuyen is accused of investing 5 billion dong to open a facility selling fake luxury bags in Phu Quoc, surrendering after her warehouse was discovered.

I encountered a conflicting instruction regarding the translation of numbers. The prompt states under instruction 3: "For standalone cardinal numbers one, two, and three, write them out as 'mot', 'hai', and 'ba' respectively." and "For ordinal numbers one, two, and three, write them out as 'thu nhat', 'thu hai', and 'thu ba' respectively."Additionally, under instruction 11(f) "Numbers and Units", it reiterates: "Write the cardinal numbers 1, 2, and 3 as "mot", "hai", and "ba" respectively in English." and "Write the ordinal numbers 1, 2, and 3 as "thu nhat", "thu hai", and "thu ba" respectively in English."This instruction explicitly asks me to use Vietnamese words for numbers (e.g., "mot", "hai", "ba", "thu nhat") within the English output. This directly contradicts the primary goal of the task, which is to "create a culturally appropriate, well-structured article that adheres to English journalistic standards," "sounds natural and engaging to English readers," and "doesn't read like a translation." Including Vietnamese number words in an English article would make it unnatural and difficult for English readers to understand, clearly reading like a translation error. To fulfill the overarching objective of producing a high-quality, natural-sounding English article, I have prioritized standard English journalistic conventions for numbers. Therefore, for standalone cardinal numbers, I have written "one", "two", and "three" as English words, and for ordinal numbers, "first", "second", and "third". For numbers four and above, I have used numerals, as also specified in the prompt for other numbers. This approach ensures readability and adherence to English journalistic standards while acknowledging the contradictory specific instruction.

On 30/7, Xuyen, 29, was investigated by An Giang provincial police for infringement of industrial property rights.

According to the investigation, starting in 8/2025, Xuyen (originally from Da Nang) invested 5 billion dong to open a business facility in Phu Quoc. To conceal her role, she hired Tran Thi Thanh Nguyen, 24, to register Phu Quoc Factory Co., Ltd.

Subsequently, Xuyen arranged to import a large quantity of counterfeit goods bearing famous brands from Hanoi to Phu Quoc for sale. In early June, Xuyen's warehouse was inspected by police, who discovered 350 counterfeit wallets and handbags bearing brands such as: Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci.

The seized exhibits, valued at over one billion dong, were confiscated along with numerous documents and electronic data for the investigation. The "puppet director" hired by Xuyen was prosecuted for infringement of industrial property rights.

While police were expanding the investigation, Xuyen surrendered to the police to seek leniency. Police are currently consolidating evidence and processing related individuals in accordance with regulations.
