Experts consider Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) a leader in Vietnam's tourism innovation, blending coastal experiences with health and sports tourism. This aligns with the global rise of sports tourism.
Statista data shows that sports tourism made up about 10% of global tourism spending in 2025, behind leisure and business travel. However, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) estimates this will rise to 17.5% by 2030. Nha Trang, with its climate and diverse ecosystem, is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend, particularly in the area of running and race-cations.
Diverse training routes
Nha Trang's varied terrain, from beaches to mountains, offers runners a range of training options. The city boasts flat coastal roads like Tran Phu and Pham Van Dong, ideal for speed training, as well as challenging mountain passes like Luong Son and Cu Hin, perfect for trail running or long runs.

After a run, enjoying local specialties is a must for sports tourists. Nha Trang's diverse cuisine, including bun sua (jellyfish noodle soup), banh canh (thick noodle soup), nem nuong (grilled pork rolls), and banh can (mini savory pancakes), helps runners replenish their energy.
The area is also known for its fresh seafood, readily available at affordable restaurants near the beach and local seafood markets.
