According to Tezuka Daisuke, a member of the group's executive board, Chief Representative of Aeon Group in Vietnam, and General Director of Aeon Vietnam, the Vietnamese retail market has significant room for development, with modern retail channels currently accounting for only 12-15% of the market share. In 2024, Aeon in Vietnam recorded a revenue increase of 120% compared to the same period, continuing to be the fastest-growing market outside Japan in the region. This result stems from a strategy of diversifying retail models and expanding the ecosystem of sales points nationwide.
The opening of Aeon Binh Duong Midori Park is a step forward in expanding the compact general merchandise store and supermarket model into new urban areas, aiming to more than three-fold its scale by 2030.
