Carlsberg Vietnam provides clean water to central Vietnam for 7 years

After 7 years of implementing the "Clean Water Source for a Beloved Central Vietnam" program, Carlsberg Vietnam has brought clean water to nearly 9,500 households, improving the lives of almost 40,000 people.

In 2025, the program continues with 4 new projects in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh (before its administrative merger with Quang Tri), and Quang Tri – areas where access to clean water remains a daily concern for many families. These new projects are expected to provide approximately 40,000 m³ of clean water to nearly 500 households, benefiting over 3,800 people. To date, the total amount of clean water provided through the program has exceeded 3.3 million m³ via 30 water supply projects.

Launched in 2019, "Clean Water Source for a Beloved Central Vietnam" is a long-term community initiative aimed at bringing a stable supply of clean water to disadvantaged areas in central Vietnam, a region where the company has operated for over three decades. More than just a corporate social responsibility activity, the program embodies the company's commitment to sustainable development: "starting with practical actions today to contribute to a sustainable future for the community."

Collaborating with local authorities, Carlsberg Vietnam conducts on-site surveys and thoroughly assesses the current status of water supply systems in each area to ensure appropriate support and tangible benefits for the community. Based on the survey results, the company upgrades water filtration systems, repairs existing facilities, and installs new pipelines, bringing clean water directly to households. Clean water is not only a basic necessity but also the foundation of health, safety, and development opportunities for residents.

A representative from Carlsberg Vietnam shared that seven years is not just a milestone but a testament to the bond and trust the company has cultivated with central Vietnam. "Carlsberg Vietnam is proud to have accompanied the people of central Vietnam for decades, not just as a brewer, but as a reliable partner on the journey of sustainable development," the representative said.

Carlsberg Vietnam's commitment to sustainable development also stems from its internal production processes. At the Phu Bai Brewery (Hue City), one of Carlsberg's largest breweries in Asia, sustainable thinking is integrated throughout the entire operation. In 2024, the brewery achieved an average water consumption of 2.09 liters/liter (liters of water consumed per liter of finished beer), placing it among the most water-efficient breweries in Vietnam and in the top 10 most water-saving Carlsberg breweries in Asia.

Simultaneously, the company continues to expand access to clean water for the community, with tens of thousands of cubic meters of clean water provided each year. This two-pronged approach—optimization within the brewery and outreach to the community—clearly reflects Carlsberg Vietnam's sustainable development philosophy: every drop of water is not only used responsibly but also given back to provide practical and long-term value.

Entering its 7th year, "Clean Water Source for a Beloved Central Vietnam" is not just about water supply projects, but also a symbol of the long-term companionship, sharing, and connection that Carlsberg Vietnam has with central Vietnam - a region that holds a special place in the company's development journey.

For Carlsberg Vietnam, every drop of water holds meaning, not only in each product created, "but also in every hope nurtured with the community, in line with the mission of 'Brewing for a better today and a brighter future'," affirmed the company representative.
