Many often opt for a bold style to stand out at parties. However, according to makeup expert Iryna Khomyakova from London, England, applying too much makeup often backfires. Here are common mistakes to avoid:
Applying overly dark smoky eyeshadow: Dark, heavy tones can make eyes appear weighty, emphasizing crow's feet or hooded eyelids. Instead of deep black, women should opt for warm, soft tones to create a brightening effect, making their eyes look more refined.
Applying thick eyeliner: Lining both the upper and lower eyelids with black can make eyes appear smaller and accentuate dark circles. To make eyes look larger, consider a subtle flick at the outer corner or apply only a fine line on the lower lash line.

Overusing matte concealer: High-coverage matte products tend to settle into fine lines, making the under-eye area appear dry and cakey. Replace these with a lightweight cream containing illuminating ingredients to achieve a natural, radiant finish.
Applying "mask-like" foundation: Layering too much foundation will accentuate pores and wrinkles. A light foundation layer provides a youthful appearance and prevents the skin from looking cakey after a few hours at a party.
Applying too much setting powder: Excess powder absorbs moisture, diminishing the skin's natural glow. Only lightly apply powder to the T-zone or areas prone to oiliness.
Applying harsh lip liner: A sharp lip line can make lips appear thin and emphasize wrinkles around the mouth. It is best to softly blend the lip line for a softer effect or add some lip gloss to create fullness.

"Caterpillar" eyebrows: Overly dark and sharp eyebrows can make a face appear harsh. The current trend favors natural eyebrows, gently brushed upwards to create an airy, youthful look.
Excessive contouring: Harsh contour lines can make the face appear gaunt and sagging. Instead, prioritize using highlighter or warm-toned blush to create a softer depth.
Overusing glitter: Large glitter particles, particularly when they settle into wrinkled skin (especially around the eyes), can accentuate imperfections. Women should subtly apply fine glitter to small areas to enhance elegance.
"Party makeup should aim for radiance, prioritizing simplicity to always be the most youthful version of yourself", Ms. Iryna Khomyakova shared.
