The Ministry of Health launched the nationwide communication campaign "For a Vietnam free from the burden of HPV" in 3/2025 to call on the community to join hands in preventing diseases related to HPV (Human Papillomavirus). This common virus can cause cervical cancer and several other cancers in both men and women. Many organizations and individuals have responded to the campaign, including singer Hari Won.
Participating as an inspirational figure, Hari Won shared her journey with cervical cancer treatment. During a period of active artistic work, she discovered unusual health signs and was advised to undergo specialized tests. After several check-ups and follow-ups, she received a positive result for cervical cancer. "I will never forget the feeling of fear, helplessness, and confusion in the face of all the information about HPV at that time," the singer said.

For a long time, she chose to keep the story private due to fear of prejudice and worry from loved ones. However, after several treatments, she began to share publicly to help raise awareness about the disease and emphasize the role of early screening and prevention.
"I used to think that because I was young and healthy, I would be fine, but when faced with the risk, I realized that health is not something to be taken lightly, and being proactive is something no one can do for you," Hari said.
Through her courageous personal story, Hari Won not only shares her journey of overcoming challenges but also conveys the message about the importance of proactive healthcare, especially HPV prevention, the leading cause of cervical cancer and other related diseases.
The singer's message will be conveyed through various channels: video sharing on the Vietcetera platform, reports broadcast on Vietnam Television (VTV), and articles in newspapers. The content targets groups such as teenagers, parents, and adults, encouraging them to learn about HPV, have regular health check-ups, and apply appropriate preventive measures.
At the launch ceremony of the Ministry of Health's nationwide communication campaign "For a Vietnam free from the burden of HPV", Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said the campaign is one of the health sector's efforts to urge people to proactively protect their personal and community health.
