Highlands Coffee's journey: from farm to over 100 million cups

More than 100 million Highlands Coffee cups each year are produced through a closed value chain, connecting raw material regions, factories, logistics, and over 1,000 stores.

With over 20 years of development in Vietnam, Highlands Coffee has built an extensive store network and invested in its supply chain to control quality from raw materials to the final product. Behind each cup of coffee is a connected process, from the sourcing regions to the stores.

Before reaching customers, Highlands Coffee undergoes many stages: from carefully selected coffee beans grown in the highlands, to roasting and grinding at the Cai Mep factory, and brewing according to the brand's exclusive recipe.

The brand's primary coffee source comes from growing regions in Tay Nguyen, where farmers play a crucial role in the farm-to-store value chain. In parallel, the company collaborates with partners to implement various activities in the growing regions. These include training farmers, improving soil quality, conserving water sources, developing planting region maps for traceability, supporting shade trees, providing organic fertilizers, and ensuring long-term purchasing agreements.

Oriented towards sustainable development of coffee sourcing regions, the company aims to enhance the quality of these regions, encourage responsible farming practices, and create lasting value for Vietnamese farming communities.

Facing the challenges of climate change and pressure on raw material regions, the brand continues to invest in sustainable development programs. These initiatives support farmers and contribute to building a future for Vietnam's coffee industry.

From farmers, factory teams, and logistics personnel to baristas at the stores, each link contributes to creating consistent quality and experience for customers.

According to a Highlands Coffee representative, the brand's growth is not only reflected in the scale of its store network, and quality extends beyond a delicious cup of coffee. The brand aims to support Vietnam's coffee industry by enhancing the value of agricultural products, promoting sustainable development activities, and creating additional value for farmers, communities, and future generations.

Highlands Coffee was established in 1999, evolving from a Vietnamese coffee brand and expanding its store system across many provinces and cities. The brand focuses on coffee and beverage products, while also developing a store model that combines dine-in and takeaway services.
