Kylian Mbappe stands apart from most professional footballers by not having an official, FIFA-licensed agent. Instead, he delegates the management of his football and commercial endeavors to his parents, Wilfrid and Fayza Lamari. This familial approach ensures that only his closest relatives receive a percentage from the lucrative contracts he signs with clubs and commercial partners. The family has maintained this distance from outside intermediaries since the early days of his career, rejecting numerous agent offers when Mbappe was just 8 years old.
Within the Mbappe family, roles are clearly defined. His father, Wilfrid, initially oversaw his football career, while his mother, Fayza Lamari, managed off-field activities and commercial ventures. Crucially, Mbappe himself retains the final say in all major decisions. Financial advisors seeking to broker sponsorship deals have also been met with the same family-first policy.

Despite their preference for internal management, the family does engage external support for specialized areas. Luis Campos, a sports advisor for clubs under Qatar Sports Investments, has been a trusted figure since Mbappe's time at Monaco. Additionally, former L'Equipe (France) journalist Bilel Ghazi assists with media relations. However, these individuals are not part of the core management team. A significant shift occurred when Mbappe prepared to sign his first professional contract with Monaco. Recognizing the need for robust legal protection, the family sought a lawyer and brought in Delphine Verheyden.
In 2022, Verheyden stated that when Fayza initially contacted her, she was unfamiliar with Mbappe and did not follow football. Nevertheless, Fayza's directness convinced her to collaborate. Despite her involvement in negotiating multi-million euro contracts, Verheyden operates on an hourly fee basis, rather than receiving a percentage-based commission, a practice consistent with her other clients.
Over time, the dynamics within Mbappe's management evolved. Wilfrid gradually stepped back from the forefront of his son's career. As Mbappe matured, he became less reliant on professional advice from his father, a former player and coach with a modest career. Currently, Wilfrid holds no official role in the companies established by Mbappe and Fayza to manage his image.
In contrast to his father's diminishing role, Fayza's influence has steadily grown. After separating from Wilfrid in the spring of 2020, Fayza moved to a new apartment and actively organizes regular meetings with the media, strategically shaping her son's public image and brand.
Beyond his unique career management, Kylian Mbappe holds the record for the most goals scored for the French national team, with 20 goals. This achievement surpasses the 13 goals set by legend Just Fontaine in the 1958 World Cup.
