Lost son's reunion gift after 33 years

Reuniting with his mother after 33 years, Wang Xiaoju presented her with 33 red envelopes, a house key, and a bank card, promising lifelong care.

Wang's father died in 1992 when his mother was five months pregnant. Despite her family advising her to have an abortion and remarry, she chose to keep her child. This led to estrangement from her relatives, forcing her to work various jobs while raising her son alone.

Touched by her plight, a neighbor offered to care for Wang but disappeared with him when he was only one month old.

The mother searched for her son for years without success. She later remarried and had four more children, but life remained challenging. "For the past 33 years, I've lived with guilt and blamed myself for my son's abandonment," she said.

Wang was adopted by a family in Henan. He faced stigma and was often called an orphan. At 12, he left school to work, and in 2015, he moved to Sichuan to start a business. Within 10 years, Wang became the owner of a company with assets worth tens of millions of USD.

Success didn't diminish Wang's longing for his biological family. He enlisted the help of police and volunteers in Mianyang, Sichuan, to undergo DNA testing and find his parents.

In July of this year, the police located Wang's mother in Zhao Tong City, Yunnan Province. Upon meeting her, Wang learned of his father's passing.

On September 19, he drove to Yunnan. The next morning, upon seeing her son from afar, his mother burst into tears and collapsed from emotion.

In addition to organizing a heartfelt reunion ceremony, Wang pledged to support his mother and siblings. Kneeling before her, wiping away her tears, he said, "Mom, you are my treasure. From now on, you will always be with me."
