According to a company representative, women are playing an increasingly prominent role in agricultural production in Vietnam. However, opportunities to access new knowledge and modern technology remain limited in many rural areas. To address this, Syngenta Vietnam organized the "Empowering Vietnamese Rural Women – Sow Love, Reap Success" program in Ninh Binh on 24-25/3. The initiative gathered over 140 women farmers from various neighboring provinces, aiming to support their access to modern farming methods.

Among the stories shared at the program was that of Nguyen Thi Hung, 48 years old, who leads a group representing nearly 100 rice-farming households cultivating over 100 hectares in Tien Hai commune. Facing pressure from pests, diseases, and unpredictable weather, she began using the digital agriculture platform Cropwise Grower. This platform allows her to diagnose pests and diseases using artificial intelligence, monitor weather, and manage farming schedules via her phone. "Before, many types of pests and diseases were hard to identify," she said, "but now, I just take a photo, and the application suggests a solution."
In addition to the digital platform, Hung has invested in drones to spray pesticides over large areas. This technology helps reduce labor by approximately 70% while optimizing the use of water and plant protection products. The application of this technology has not only improved the efficiency of her family's rice fields but has also spread to other households within her farming group.

During the program, women farmers engaged with experts on topics such as pest management, optimizing cultivation processes, and applying digital agricultural tools. Beyond technical content, the program also addressed the health and quality of life for rural women. Discussions on nutrition, exercise, and stress management were highly valued by many participants, as these topics resonated with their reality of balancing production work with family responsibilities.
Delegates also visited Syngenta's Research Center in Ninh Binh. This center showcases various farming models and experience zones linked to production. Here, farmers directly observed laboratories, plant growing areas, and simulated farming models. This allowed them to better visualize how to apply science and technology in their fields.
Tran Thanh Vu, General Director of Syngenta Vietnam, stated that women are key drivers in experimenting with new production methods in many localities. When they gain access to knowledge and technology, these changes can spread throughout the community, contributing to enhanced agricultural efficiency and sustainability. According to him, supporting women farmers not only improves family livelihoods but also contributes to the long-term development of the industry.
