Contractor expanding Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway fined

The company undertaking the expressway expansion was fined 14 million VND for unsafe vehicle entry and exit from the construction site, posing an accident risk.

On 16/4, Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) issued a penalty notice to V.N Import-Export and Construction Joint Stock Corporation under Decree 336/2025 for failing to assign personnel to warn traffic during construction on an operational road.

Camera footage shows a tanker truck exiting the construction site onto the expressway unsafely. Video: Traffic Police Department.

Previously, surveillance cameras on the route recorded a tanker truck carrying concrete from the contractor's opened access point within the construction area entering the expressway without a guide, despite heavy traffic. A company representative later admitted the error and committed to preventing recurrence.

According to regulations, construction units must assign personnel wearing reflective vests, hard hats, and holding signal wands at hazardous locations and site entrances to ensure safety and prevent traffic congestion.
