On 16/4, the Da Nang People's Committee announced Permanent Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh's approval of a plan for managing and utilizing public assets. The Da Nang Housing Management and Exploitation Center will oversee 119 facilities, covering over 135,600 square meters.
These public properties will be utilized through auctions or listed prices, as per Decree 108. Primary uses include headquarters, non-business activity centers, commercial spaces, and service facilities.
The city prioritizes sectors encouraging socialization, including education, healthcare, culture, sports, and environment. Suitable locations may also serve as warehouses or product showrooms.
City leaders also instructed the management unit to project and add revenue from leasing these properties and installing telecommunications facilities to the state budget.

At the Q1/2026 press conference, Ho Ngoc Phuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Finance, revealed that 828 public land and building facilities city-wide are no longer needed. Of these, 247 will be repurposed for public housing, healthcare, education, and other public activities.
The remaining 581 surplus facilities are assigned to land fund centers and commune/ward People's Committees for management. These units will lease them or propose usage plans based on their condition. "If unusable, they will be auctioned to recover budget funds", Phuong stated.
At the mid-March Anti-Corruption and Wastefulness Steering Committee meeting, Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee, noted that many post-merger headquarters lie vacant, causing considerable waste. In the former Hoa Vang district, for instance, numerous tax and treasury offices have been handed over to local authorities but remain unused.
"An urgent and definitive solution for each vacant headquarters is imperative to prevent loss and negativity during organizational restructuring", Quang urged.
During inspections in several wards, Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, stressed the need for flexibility in public asset rearrangement. Densely populated areas with high demand should prioritize surplus land for expanding schools and medical stations.
