Authorities reported that on the morning of 30/6, the elderly man from Chau Son Dong village, Que Son commune, went to his field to burn undergrowth for agricultural production. During this process, the fire erupted, spreading rapidly into a nearby acacia and melaleuca forest, becoming a large blaze by approximately 2 PM.

Local authorities quickly mobilized dozens of officials, militia members, and communal police officers to combat the fire. Their efforts aimed to prevent further spread amidst hot weather conditions.

After the blaze was brought under control, officials inspected the scene and discovered the man had died.

Investigators believe the victim likely succumbed to smoke inhalation while attempting to extinguish the flames. The incident remains under investigation.
