Around 9:36 AM on 7/5, a 40-year-old male driver from Khanh Hoa was operating a HCM City-plated tractor-trailer. He was traveling from the Bai Goc port project area onto National Highway 1, through Hoa Xuan commune.
Upon reaching the railway crossing situated between Phu Hiep and Hao Son stations, the driver attempted to proceed despite the red light already being active. As the tractor-trailer entered the middle of the tracks, the automatic barrier lowered, trapping the vehicle.

The driver then tried to move the vehicle but was unsuccessful. The co-driver had to get out and manually lift the barrier arm to allow the truck to escape. Approximately 40 seconds after the vehicle cleared the tracks, train SE5 arrived at the crossing.
Road Traffic Police Team 3, part of the Dak Lak Traffic Police Department, issued a citation to the driver for crossing railway tracks against a red light. The driver was fined 5 million VND, had his driving license revoked for two months, and is required to compensate for damages caused by breaking the barrier arm.
According to police, at railway crossings, all vehicles must stop before the designated line when red lights flash and bells ring, signaling an approaching train. Crossing the tracks at such times is strictly prohibited.
In recent times, numerous railway accidents have occurred due to drivers attempting to bypass barriers when a train is imminent.
