10,500 runners accumulate over 270,000 km at NAB Vietnam virtual race

The NAB Vietnam virtual race attracted over 10,500 registrants, recorded 271,882 km of activity, and contributed one billion dong to community initiatives, surpassing the campaign's initial target.

Held from 21/4 to 4/6 on the vRace platform, the NAB Vietnam virtual race was organized to connect the technology-loving community, encourage an active lifestyle, and raise funds for social initiatives. For every kilometer recorded, NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam contributed 10,000 dong to the CSR fund to support student technology innovation initiatives and community programs in Vietnam.

According to summary data from the organizing committee, the race attracted 10,542 registrants, including 4,194 active athletes. The total distance recorded reached 271,882 km, equivalent to more than 6,7 times around the Earth at the equator.

This figure helped the campaign achieve its one billion dong fundraising goal, exceeding initial expectations. On average, each active athlete contributed 64,83 km.

A representative from NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam stated that the results demonstrate the appeal of a model combining sports, technology, and community activities. "The race created a platform that helped people exercise more and connect through positive values. The achieved results exceeded expectations in both participation numbers and social impact", the representative said.

A notable aspect of the NAB Vietnam virtual race was its ability to extend outreach beyond internal corporate boundaries.

According to statistics, about 73% of athletes came from outside the NAB community, while NAB Vietnam personnel and the NAB Global network accounted for nearly 27%. This indicates that the race was not just an internal activity but attracted participation from runners and technology enthusiasts nationwide. More than half of the registrants were students, a demographic considered the future technology workforce.

Beyond attracting a large number of participants, the race also recorded a high activity retention rate.

According to data from the vRace platform, up to 73,77% of active athletes completed the 10 km milestone. Nearly 60% conquered the 21 km half-marathon distance, while 42,7% completed the 42 km marathon milestone during the campaign.

Throughout the campaign, the organizing committee also implemented various interactive activities such as: "Ready, Set, Selfie", "Run With A Purpose", and "Magic Number Milestones", encouraging participants to share their training journeys and spread the spirit of physical activity on social media.

These side activities helped the race maintain its momentum throughout its duration, while also creating opportunities for participants to connect with each other.

According to NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam, the campaign's greatest value lies not in its performance numbers but in the social impact generated by its community of participants.

For many years, NAB has maintained technology human resource development programs through training, internships, and student support. With the NAB Vietnam virtual race, the enterprise aims to expand these activities by mobilizing community participation.
