According to the British newspaper Telegraph, Arsenal currently pays Arteta 20 million USD per season, a figure just below the 27 million USD Guardiola receives at Man City.
Arsenal signed Arteta's current contract in 2024, at a time when he had secured only one title for the club, the FA Cup in the 2019-2020 season. Following his success in winning the Premier League and reaching the Champions League final this season, the 44-year-old coach has significantly enhanced his position. Consequently, Arsenal is expected to offer a higher salary upon his contract extension.

Arteta's ascent to the highest-paid Premier League coach is partly attributed to Guardiola's imminent departure from Man City. Media reports indicate that after a decade at the helm of the Etihad Stadium team, during which he secured 20 titles, the 55-year-old coach intends to take a sabbatical. Enzo Maresca, who guided Chelsea to victory in the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, is considered his most probable successor.
Unai Emery, who recently led Aston Villa to win the Europa League, also earns 20 million USD per season.
The salaries of Michael Carrick, who is set to sign a permanent contract with Man Utd, and Xabi Alonso, who recently took charge of Chelsea, remain undisclosed. Spanish media reported that Alonso earned 9,4 million USD before his dismissal from Real Madrid this season.
Arteta and his Arsenal squad secured the Premier League title for the 2025-2026 season one round early, following Man City's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth. The Gunners currently sit atop the league with 82 points, holding a four-point advantage over Man City heading into the final round. On 30/5, Arteta has the opportunity for even greater success if Arsenal defeats PSG in the Champions League final, held at the neutral Puskas Arena in Hungary.
Winning the Premier League for the first time in 22 years is anticipated to drive substantial growth for Arsenal. Financial experts suggest that the Gunners could establish a new revenue record in England, potentially exceeding Man City's 960 million USD reported for the 2022-2023 season.
Meanwhile, strengthening the squad poses a significant challenge. After investing 336 million USD in player acquisitions during the 2025-2026 season without substantial returns from sales, Arsenal must restructure its roster. The club's leadership has determined that at least one high-earning player needs to leave.
Nevertheless, the Gunners might still acquire several affordable talents, including Tino Livramento (Newcastle), Oscar Mingueza (Celta Vigo), Jeremy Monga (Leicester City), or Eli Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth). However, the acquisition of Julian Alvarez appears unlikely, as Atletico is reportedly demanding 130 million USD.
