Badminton star Nguyen Thuy Linh to meet runners at VM Can Tho 2026

Nguyen Thuy Linh, Vietnam's top female badminton player, will engage with fans at the Herbalife Vietnam booth during the VnExpress Marathon Can Tho 2026 expo, held at Song Hau Park on 8-9/5.

According to the schedule, check-in and interaction sessions with Thuy Linh will take place from 13:30 to 17:00 on both 8-9/5. Participants can meet and take photos with the player, born in 1997, at the Herbalife booth.

A highlight this year is the giveaway of 900 gift sets, including shirts and accessories, for the earliest Herbalife members to check in at the booth. In addition to the fan interaction, the Herbalife booth will host various mini-games, physical activities, and lively performances throughout the expo. Participants can win prizes such as tote bags, t-shirts, and nutritional products. Organizers state these activities aim to enhance the runner experience before race day.

Vietnam's top female badminton player, Nguyen Thuy Linh, turned professional at age 14, winning the National Outstanding Players Championship in 2015. She has held the title of Vietnam's number one female player for seven consecutive years and is currently ranked 23rd in the world badminton rankings.

The player, born in 1997, represented Vietnam at two Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. In 2025, Thuy Linh impressed by defeating Ratchanok Intanon, a former world number one player, at the World Badminton Championships in Paris, France, advancing to the second round. Domestically, she has dominated the National Individual Badminton Championships, winning eight consecutive titles, and has claimed the Vietnam Open three times from 2022 to 2024.

Thuy Linh's presence at the expo is a highlight of the pre-race activities, which also include training sessions, interactions with sports key opinion leaders, and a children's experience zone.

Herbalife, a nutrition brand founded in 1980 in the US, operates in over 90 countries and territories. In Vietnam, Herbalife has sponsored nutrition for many elite athletes since 2009. The company has also been a nutrition partner for the VnExpress Marathon series for the past 5 years.

The VnExpress Marathon Can Tho 2026 will take place on 10/5, marking the opening event of this year's VnExpress Marathon summer series. The race attracts over 10,000 runners participating in 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km distances, traversing many characteristic routes of the Tay Do region (Can Tho).
