Manager Michael Carrick has stated that the ongoing uncertainty regarding Manchester United's long-term coaching position poses no concern for him. He emphasized that the players remain highly focused despite the broader context, as the club accelerates its push for a Champions League spot.
"I have no concerns", Carrick said at a press conference ahead of their 25th round Premier League match against Tottenham. "The players have performed very well and are fully focused. We all understand the broader context and what might happen, but as players, you concentrate on improving, progressing one step at a time. This will be a very important period at the end of the season".
Carrick has made a perfect start since his return, leading Manchester United to three consecutive victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Fulham. This impressive run has propelled them into the Premier League's top 4 and fueled growing calls for him to be appointed permanent manager from next season.

Including his interim spell in 2021, Manchester United has drawn one and won 4 of their five Premier League matches under Carrick. This makes him the third manager in the club's history to win at least four of his first five league games, following Matt Busby (1946) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (2019).
The upcoming match against Tottenham holds special significance for Carrick, who made 75 appearances for "Spurs" before joining Manchester United in 2006. He anticipates a challenging encounter against his former club.
"They are a competitive opponent", the English coach stated. "Tottenham is gradually regaining their full squad and possesses dangerous attacking players. This will be a different match from recent weeks, but we are in good form and ready".
Manchester United has not defeated Tottenham in their last 6 Premier League meetings, while the London side is unbeaten in 8 consecutive matches against the "Red Devils" across all competitions. Nevertheless, the Old Trafford team is on a 7-match unbeaten run in the domestic league and has won all three matches since Carrick's return to management.
Despite the impressive start, Carrick affirmed he is not getting carried away by praise. "Keep your feet on the ground, don't get caught up in what's happening", the 44-year-old manager emphasized. "The most important thing remains the next match and the challenge ahead".
On 7/2, Manchester United will host Tottenham at Old Trafford before visiting West Ham next week. Having been eliminated from the FA Cup, the "Red Devils" will have a 12-day break before facing Everton on 23/2.
Manchester United's board has decided not to organize a commercial friendly during this break. However, Carrick revealed that the possibility is still being considered for fixture gaps in march and april. "Nothing is confirmed yet. We are well aware of the schedule and are still discussing options", he stated.
