Indonesia achieved a historic victory over Japan, winning 5-3 in extra time during the semi-finals of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship. This win marks their inaugural appearance in the tournament's final.
The match, held at the Indonesia arena on 5/2, saw Samuel Eko score a brace in the 9th and 49th minutes. Other Indonesian goals came from an own goal by Motoishi in the 18th minute, Firman in the 39th minute, and Reza in the 45th minute.
Japan's goals were scored by Motoishi in the 30th minute and Shimizu in the 36th and 40th minutes.
