Cool weather and light rain expected for VnExpress Marathon Nha Trang

Nha Trang's weather on 24/8 is forecast to be cool with moderate humidity, creating favorable conditions for runners tackling the VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang 2025.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Nha Trang is expected to have cloudy skies with intermittent showers and thunderstorms on 24/8. Temperatures will range from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a gentle sea breeze. The early morning hours will be cool and pleasant, with moderate humidity. This is also the starting time for the 42km VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang race.

Full marathon runners will experience about four hours of running in pleasant weather conditions. From around 6:30 a.m. onwards, the sun will rise higher, and it will be sunny. Experts believe this temperature range is still suitable for long-distance running, but athletes should regularly hydrate and replenish electrolytes to prevent exhaustion as humidity and radiation increase.

Runners are advised to carry mini cold towels or cooling gels to apply to their necks, napes, or wrists for quick cooling. After finishing the race, runners should not immediately shower or swim in the sea but should rest in the shade for at least 10-15 minutes to allow their bodies to recover and avoid heat shock.

Water stations along the course will provide runners with water, electrolytes, and fruit. Athletes are encouraged to utilize every station to maintain their energy levels.

The 21km and 10km races will both start at 4 a.m., while the 5km race will begin at 6:30 a.m. The weather during these times will remain mild and cool, possibly even slightly chilly. Compared to last year, the weather in Nha Trang during this year's VnExpress Marathon is more favorable, promising the potential for many personal bests.

Scattered showers are still possible throughout the day but are not expected to last long, contributing to the cooler coastal air. However, runners are advised to be mindful of the road surface and exercise caution when passing through potentially slippery areas. Spectators should bring umbrellas and raincoats in case of weather changes.

The VnExpress Marathon Libera Nha Trang 2025, with 13,000 participants, takes place on the morning of 24/8. The race is an official event within Khanh Hoa province's series of activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2/9).
