Eileen Gu account gains attention on dating app

Profile believed to be ‘snow princess’ Eileen Gu's on celebrity dating app draws millions of views

An image widely shared on X on 5/3, accumulating over 5 million views via the @zoomyzoomm account, depicted a profile named Gu on a phone screen. The brief description read: "Professional skier and model, Stanford University, two-time Olympic champion, IMG model." Interests listed included: cats, philosophy, white truffle oil, running, and physics.

The post quickly generated hundreds of fan comments. Many expressed excitement seeing the renowned Olympic athlete on a dating app, while others questioned the profile's authenticity, noting the lack of official confirmation from Gu.

"Is Eileen Gu single on Raya?" commented @JasonAuzxy. "Stanford graduate, Olympian, model, philosopher, and she specializes in white truffle oil. Good luck, everyone!"

@zoomyzoomm responded, "No one stands a chance with her."

@nick_ally1986 added, "With a profile like that on Raya, even celebrities and athletes might think twice before direct messaging Eileen Gu."

This story underscores Gu's significant appeal, particularly after her success at the 2026 Winter Olympics. In Italy, the 22-year-old athlete secured one gold and two silver medals across three freestyle skiing events: halfpipe, slopestyle, and big air. These achievements brought her total Olympic medal count to six (three gold, three silver), solidifying her status as the most decorated freestyle skier in history.

Born in 2003 in San Francisco, Eileen Gu (Gu Ailing) has an American father and a Chinese mother. Her decision in 2019 to compete for China, rather than her native United States, generated controversy. While some in the U.S. criticized her choice, Gu became a prominent sports and pop culture icon in China.

Beyond her athletic career, Gu maintains a diverse public profile. She models for IMG and is pursuing a physics degree at Stanford. This combination of elite sports, academics, and fashion positions her as a highly influential figure among young audiences.

Gu's connection to Raya immediately drew attention. Unlike mainstream dating apps like Tinder, Raya is an exclusive platform for celebrities and influential figures in creative, entertainment, and sports industries. Prospective members must submit an application and undergo a review process by the system and an internal committee. Reports indicate a low acceptance rate, making Raya highly selective.

As an Olympic star, fashion model, and student at a leading American university, Gu aligns perfectly with Raya's exclusive user base.

Gu's Olympic career appears to have a long future. The next Winter Olympics, scheduled for 2030 in the French Alps, will likely see the 22-year-old athlete as a leading contender in freestyle skiing events.
