The women's long jump event featured 16 athletes, including two from Vietnam: Thuy Hang and Ngoc Ha. Each competitor was allowed six jumps.
Thuy Hang started slowly, but delivered a surprising 6.16-meter jump on her final attempt to secure Vietnam's first gold medal at these games. Sri Lankan athletes Wikramasinha Arachchi and Galabadage I. took silver and bronze respectively, with jumps of 5.87 meters and 5.83 meters.
Ngoc Ha finished 4th with 5.81 meters, while host athlete Chen Liewn placed 5th with 5.72 meters.

Ha Thi Thuy Hang, a 20-year-old from Phu Tho, developed a passion for long jump at a young age and rapidly improved her performance through dedicated training. Her previous achievements include gold medals at the Thong Nhat Speed Cup in 2022 and 2023, a gold at the 2023 Southeast Asian Youth Championship, a silver at the 2025 National Championship with 6.37 meters, and a silver at SEA Games 33 with 6.29 meters.
Also this morning, in the women's 100-meter traditional boat race, Vietnam's team secured a silver medal with a time of 28.516 seconds, trailing host China by 0.256 seconds. Thailand finished third, one second behind Vietnam.
The Asian Beach Games 2026 are taking place on Hainan Island, China, from 22/4 to 30/4. The event has attracted 1,790 athletes from 45 countries and territories, competing for 62 medal sets across 14 sports. Vietnam is participating with 54 athletes, competing in 8 sports.
