Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of Hanoi's Department of Culture and Sports, stated that the 4th Hanoi Techcombank International Marathon is one of the capital's key sporting events following the grand celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on 2/9. Over three seasons, the event has attracted over 26,000 athletes, affirming its enduring appeal and broad reach within both domestic and international communities.
"We acknowledge and highly appreciate the positive impact of the event", Tai emphasized, "and are committed to continued close collaboration with the organizers to ensure professional standards and race safety. This is also part of Hanoi's long-term strategy of integrating sports, culture, and tourism to promote the image of a modern, culturally rich Hanoi, deeply integrated with the international community".
This year, the marathon and half-marathon routes have been adjusted to enhance safety and minimize disruption to residents' daily lives. According to the organizers, traffic coordination and control will be more synchronized, with collaboration between organizers and authorities, aiming for a professional, orderly, and efficient event.
"This year's race continues to prioritize safety, modernity, and sustainability", said Rob Zamacona, CEO of Sunrise Events Vietnam. "With its expanded scale and ever-increasing quality, we believe the race will continue to be a flagship sporting event for the capital, gradually approaching the standards of prestigious races like the Tokyo Marathon or London Marathon".
The route passes 37 prominent Hanoi landmarks and buildings, blending history and modernity to offer athletes a unique experience. With each stride, participants can explore the ever-changing Hanoi. "The race is also a journey connecting sports, culture, and tourism, contributing to promoting the capital as a dynamic, culturally rich destination beloved by the international community," the organizers anticipate.
