In the 18th minute, a Stuttgart defender inadvertently set up Kane for a volley into the far corner to open the scoring. This marked the English striker's seventh goal in five matches against Stuttgart, his most against any Bundesliga opponent.

In the 77th minute, Serge Gnabry crossed from the right wing for Luis Diaz to head home his first goal for his new club. The Colombian forward celebrated by mimicking playing a video game, a tribute to his former teammate Diogo Jota, who died in a traffic accident in early July.

In stoppage time, Stuttgart pulled one back through a header from Jamie Leweling. However, it wasn't enough to prevent Bayern from extending their record to 11 German Super Cup titles. They are followed by Dortmund with 6 titles and Werder Bremen with 3.

"That's how we wanted to start the season, with a good feeling and a trophy," Kane said after the match. "It was a short summer break but we worked hard. It would have been better if we scored one or two more goals, but the team moved the ball well and combined effectively."

This is the English striker's second career trophy, following the 2024-2025 Bundesliga title.

Similarly, Diaz was delighted to win a title in his Bayern debut. This summer, the Colombian forward left Liverpool to join Bayern for 88 million USD. "I'm very happy. My first official trophy and first goal for Bayern – what can I say? It was a spectacular night," the 28-year-old star expressed.

In the first round of the Bundesliga, Bayern will face RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena on 22/8, while Stuttgart will visit Union Berlin the following day.
