VnExpress Marathon Hue is a familiar destination for runners nationwide whenever they visit the ancient capital. *VnExpress Marathon* |
The biggest highlight of this year's season is the "Stride into the Imperial City" route, which takes runners to explore the Imperial City and many iconic symbols of the ancient capital such as Truong Tien Bridge, Perfume River, and Quoc Hoc School. Instead of merely passing a few individual checkpoints, athletes registered for the 21km distance can fully experience the heritage space with segments running along all four sides of this structure.
Participating in the race, in addition to a race kit containing essential items for race day, runners will also receive a set of royal-themed items inspired by Hue court art. Each athlete will be equipped with a jersey in the distinctive purple hue of the ancient capital and will receive a khanh-shaped medal upon valid completion. Runners completing the 21km distance will also be awarded an additional finisher shirt.

Beyond the race experience, athletes registered for the event also receive free admission to sites within the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, including the Imperial City (Dai Noi), the tombs of Emperors Minh Mang, Tu Duc, Gia Long, Khai Dinh, and Thieu Tri, along with An Dinh Palace and the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum, for three days from 17-19/4. This offers both domestic and international runners an opportunity to not only conquer the heritage course but also to explore the rich history and architecture of the ancient capital.
Furthermore, this year's season coincides with the opening of the Summer Festival, part of the Hue Festival 2026 event series. This allows runners to combine competing with sightseeing, relaxation, and experiencing cultural and artistic activities happening throughout the city.
Since its inaugural event in 2020, VnExpress Marathon Hue has become a familiar gathering point for both domestic and international runners, while also contributing positively to local tourism. Last year's season, which coincided with Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (4-7/4), saw the city welcome around 109,000 visitors and runners during the event week, with estimated tourism revenue reaching 221 billion VND.
