After four opening rounds that saw nail-biting finishes late in the second half or in stoppage time, Liverpool established an early lead today, setting the stage for a comfortable victory.

In the 10th minute, Gravenberch opened the scoring with a skillful one-touch volley into the far corner, connecting with Mo Salah's cross from the right. 19 minutes later, the reigning champions doubled their advantage with a well-coordinated play from midfield. Gravenberch played a key role again, this time as provider, threading a pass into the penalty area for Ekitike to slot the ball past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
