Man City players collectively agreed to fully refund the ticket costs for 374 fans who traveled to Bodo, totaling 9,357 GBP (approximately 12,557 USD). This decision was announced in a joint statement by the team captains: Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Rodri, and Erling Haaland. The gesture came after a disappointing 1-3 loss to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League.
"Fans mean a great deal to us," the statement read. "We understand the sacrifices supporters make to follow the team everywhere and will never take that for granted. Refunding tickets for those who traveled to Bodo in the freezing cold is the least we can do."
At Aspmyra stadium in Bodo, Norway, on the evening of 20/1, Man City's defense made repeated errors, allowing Bodo/Glimt to score three consecutive goals before Rayan Cherki pulled one back in the 60th minute. However, any hope of a comeback for the English side was quickly extinguished when Rodri received a red card shortly after.

Kevin Parker, a representative of Man City's official supporters' club, welcomed the players' gesture. "Man City fans are willing to go to the ends of the earth to support the team, and this trip to the Arctic Circle is clear proof," he stated. "This action demonstrates the special bond between players and supporters."
According to the Air Miles Calculator, Manchester and Bodo are approximately 1,790 km apart as the crow flies. Under ideal conditions, a direct flight would take only about 2 hours 30-40 minutes, but there are no direct flights between the two cities. Most Man City fans had to make layovers in Oslo or another European city, extending total travel time to typically 5 to over 6 hours. This did not include connection waiting times or travel in the harsh weather conditions of the Arctic Circle.

Man City has only won two of their last seven matches across all competitions, including a 10-1 victory against third-tier club Exeter City in the FA Cup third round. In the Premier League, Pep Guardiola's squad has endured four consecutive winless rounds, most recently a 0-2 defeat at Old Trafford last weekend.
After the loss to Bodo/Glimt, Erling Haaland expressed shame and apologized to the fans. Coach Pep Guardiola suggested that things were heading in the wrong direction for Man City. Meanwhile, midfielder Tijjani Reijnders acknowledged the team's fragile state. "We did not underestimate Bodo/Glimt, but we clearly played far below the required standard," he stated. "The most important thing now is for the entire team to unite and quickly regain stability."
On 24/1, Man City will return home to face Wolves in round 23 of the Premier League. Four days later, Guardiola's side will host Galatasaray in the final match of the Champions League group stage.
