The information was reported by journalist Mario Cortegana on the Athletic on 11/5, in his "Inside Real Madrid" column. Internally, Real Madrid is growing increasingly frustrated with Mbappe, from the locker room to the management.
Mbappe had not been in good physical condition throughout the week leading up to the El Clasico at Camp Nou on 10/5. Despite this, Real still signaled that the French forward might be fit to play.

Real's medical staff had assessed Mbappe as unfit all week. However, by the final training session on 9/5, the 27-year-old forward still participated with the full squad. Coach Alvaro Arbeloa then placed Mbappe in the substitute group within the tactical lineup for the match.
The French national team captain left the training session shortly after, citing discomfort in his hamstring. The next morning, he was not included in the matchday squad.
This development frustrated many staff members at the Valdebebas training center, as they felt they had no control over the situation. Real's coaching staff was unsure of Mbappe's true physical condition and could not establish a stable personnel plan before the most important match of the season.
Real subsequently lost 0-2 to Barca, watching their rivals clinch the La Liga title for the second consecutive season. During the match, Mbappe posted a screenshot from his TV on Instagram to support his teammates. However, the post appeared when Real was already down 0-2, leading to negative reactions from some staff and players within the club.

Any action by Mbappe is currently under scrutiny as pressure around him grows. One day after the El Clasico, the French forward continued to post gym selfies from Real's training center, even though the first team had a day off.
Previously, Mbappe had been sidelined since the one-one draw with Real Betis on 24/4 due to a hamstring injury. During his recovery, he reportedly went to Italy for a break with his girlfriend, a move not viewed positively within Real.
The tense atmosphere also reflects Mbappe's uncertain future at the Bernabeu. The forward may want to avoid playing at home for the rest of the season after being booed by fans on multiple occasions. Real has three remaining La Liga matches against Oviedo, Sevilla, and Athletic Bilbao. But even within the club, no one is certain when Mbappe will return.
Real is considering a change in coaching staff. President Florentino Perez is prioritizing bringing Jose Mourinho back to the Bernabeu to replace Arbeloa. The club has contacted agent Jorge Mendes to discuss future plans with Mourinho. The Portuguese coach currently manages Benfica but has a clause allowing him to leave the club within 10 days after the season ends if a new team pays a 3,5 million USD release fee.
Benfica has also prepared to find a replacement for Mourinho should he decide to return to Madrid.
