In the men's doubles event, Quang Duong continued his excellent form alongside Jack Munro. The duo, facing Do Minh Quan and Truong Vinh Hien, delivered a high-paced, thrilling final. After four sets, Quang Duong and Munro emerged victorious with scores of 11-8, 11-4, 8-11, 11-8.
Quang Duong concluded the D-Joy Vietnam Masters with a double championship in two of the most prestigious events. The former world number 3 player missed the opportunity for a hat-trick when he and Amanda Henry lost in the Pro mixed doubles final to Jack Munro and Megan Fudge.
The double titles cemented Quang Duong's position in this tournament, which is likened to the "Grand Slam" of Vietnamese pickleball. This week's event attracted over 1,000 athletes, including nearly 100 international players from over 15 countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, South Korea, New Zealand, India, Australia, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong.
The Vietnam Masters, with a total prize fund of 5 billion VND, is considered a historic milestone, showcasing D-Joy's continuous efforts to professionalize the rapidly developing sport in Vietnam.
| In 3/2025, D-Joy announced an international tournament series and the DRP (D-Joy Race Point) ranking system, marking a significant turning point as it was the first time Vietnamese pickleball had a professional athlete ranking system. The D-Joy international tournament system was designed and advised by international experts, with DRP serving as a comprehensive measure that accurately reflects each player's form, consistency, and skill level. DRP points are calculated based on performance at stages within the D-Joy Tour system, featuring D300 - D500 - D800 - D1500 levels, corresponding to the difficulty and scale of the tournaments. This mechanism allows players to easily track their personal development, ensuring fairness, transparency, and high competitiveness throughout the season. The D-Joy Vietnam Masters, held from 25-30/11 at D-Joy courts in Ho Chi Minh City, was the final stage to record season-long achievements. Here, in addition to substantial prize money, athletes had the chance to earn a maximum of 1,500 DRP points, the highest level in the system. This stage is considered a "Grand Slam" because it is a turning point for the rankings, significantly impacting the DRP standings. With the successful tournament, Quang Duong is hailed as the "King of Vietnamese pickleball 2025". |
