Ronaldo fuels Al Nassr's title aspirations

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal, propelling Al Nassr to a 3-0 victory over Al Kholood in round 19 of the Saudi Pro League and narrowing the gap to the top spot to three points.

The decisive moment arrived in the 47th minute. Following a quick one-two combination in midfield, Joao Felix broke through to face the Al Kholood goalkeeper. Instead of shooting, the Portuguese forward squared the ball to Ronaldo, who tapped it into an empty net to open the scoring. Ronaldo and Felix celebrated with a synchronized spinning jump near the corner flag. Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes, touching the ball 25 times and achieving 83% passing accuracy, including one key pass. He completed one dribble and took three shots, two of which were on target. Sofascore rated his performance 7,7, just shy of teammate Joao Felix's 7,8.

Al Nassr dominated the match, maintaining 65% possession and registering 20 shots with 11 on target, compared to Al Kholood's four shots, one of which was on target. Following Ronaldo's opener, Mohamed Simakan and Kingsley Coman each scored, sealing Al Nassr's comprehensive win.

In an earlier fixture, Al Hilal was held to a 2-2 draw by home side Al Qadisiyah. These results propelled Al Nassr to second place in the Saudi Pro League with 43 points, level with Al Ahli and only three points adrift of leaders Al Hilal.

Ronaldo's goal increased his career tally to 961 goals: five for Sporting Lisbon, 145 for Man Utd, 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus, 138 for the Portugal national team, and 117 for Al Nassr. This season, he ranks second in the Saudi Pro League's top scorer list with 17 goals, one behind Al Ahli's Ivan Toney, who has 18.

The Portuguese forward first scored a brace for Sporting in a 3-0 victory over Moreirense on 7/10/2002, at the age of 17 years, eight months, and three days. Ronaldo has repeatedly stated his ambition to be the first player to reach 1,000 career goals.

Al Nassr will play away against Al Riyadh in the next round on 1/2. This match will be Ronaldo's last before his 41st birthday on 5/2.
