Sharing his thoughts on joining the new club, Rosenior stated that his appointment by Chelsea is a significant honor in his career. "Being given this opportunity means a great deal to me. I thank the club for their trust and will strive to bring the success Chelsea deserves," he said.
The 41-year-old coach emphasized a philosophy that prioritizes team spirit, unity, and collective effort. According to Rosenior, this will form the foundation for all professional activities at Chelsea moving forward. He also expressed enthusiasm for working with the talented squad and staff, aiming to build a cohesive team both on and off the pitch.

During his professional playing career, Rosenior played as a full-back, representing England at various youth levels, though he never featured for the senior national team. He played in the Premier League for Fulham, Reading, Hull City, and Brighton. After retiring in 2018, Rosenior served as an assistant to Wayne Rooney at Derby County in the Championship. Rooney regarded Rosenior as his best associate, always attentive to small details.
Rosenior joined Strasbourg in 7/2024, where he spent 18 months described as "the best time in his professional career." He guided the team to seventh place in Ligue 1, securing European competition qualification for the first time in 19 years. Strasbourg currently sits seventh in Ligue 1 and leads its UEFA Conference League group. However, Rosenior's final match there was a 1-1 draw away to Nice on 3/1, marking a five-game winless streak in the domestic league.
Rosenior will not directly manage Chelsea's Premier League match against Fulham today, but will make his debut in the FA Cup third round away to Charlton Athletic on 10/1.

Following last weekend's 1-1 draw with Man City, under-21s coach Calum McFarlane will continue his interim duties on the touchline at Craven Cottage.
During the pre-match press conference, McFarlane stated he had a brief discussion with Rosenior and clearly sensed the new head coach's excitement. "I was informed I would lead the team for the Fulham match. The entire squad will strive for the best possible result to lay a strong foundation for him when he officially begins his work," McFarlane said.
McFarlane also added that Rosenior's appointment serves as a significant inspiration for young English coaches, particularly those who have progressed through academy systems. Rosenior previously worked as an assistant with Brighton's under-23s before moving to Derby County, Hull City, and Strasbourg.
"For young coaches coming from academies, this is proof that they can absolutely reach the highest positions. I believe many will support Liam and wish him success," McFarlane commented.
After the Fulham match, McFarlane will return to his role as head coach of the under-21s. He anticipates close collaboration with Rosenior to continue developing Cobham's youth tradition, which has contributed numerous players to Chelsea's first team in recent seasons.
