Runners experience 'Can Gio festival atmosphere' while collecting VnExpress Marathon bibs

The expo area within the Vinhomes Green Paradise urban complex buzzed with thousands of runners collecting bibs, exploring stalls, playing minigames, and enjoying local cuisine on the morning of 30/4.

The VnExpress Marathon Green Paradise Can Gio began distributing bibs and race kits to thousands of runners on the morning of 30/4. A large number of participants arrived early to collect their items, supported by over 100 volunteers who ensured quick processing. The marathon itself is set to kick off at 4h on 1/5, attracting 5,000 runners to Can Gio.

This event marks the first time the race has visited Can Gio, known as "Ho Chi Minh City's green lung." It features a unique route through the Vinhomes Green Paradise urban complex and mangrove forests. To welcome the 5,000 participants, the organizers will host a music night and fireworks display on the evening of 30/4, enhancing the overall experience for athletes.

Runners expressed excitement for the distinctive course. Bui Tan Tai, who traveled from downtown TP HCM, collected his 10 km bib, eager to experience the green route within the Vinhomes Green Paradise urban area – the first race to utilize such a path. Similarly, Xinh Phung, a trail running specialist, anticipated the 42 km race, specifically looking forward to the "through-forest, beside-the-sea" route unique to Can Gio.

The event attracted diverse groups, including Duy Hung and Hong Tiep, who were running 10 km together for the first time. A group of young friends motored from downtown TP HCM for their bibs, planning to explore Can Gio and enjoy its seafood. Adding to the festive spirit, a three-generation family participated in the 5 km race, wearing shirts adorned with the national flag to express patriotism on the 30/4 holiday.

After collecting their bibs, runners proceeded to an area featuring over 10 stalls. These stalls, a common sight at such events, offered essential items for the race: gel, salt, shoes, watches, and sportswear.

The expo also provided a variety of interactive minigames. Runners enjoyed challenges like ring toss, hitting pickleball through a hole, and rolling balls into targets, winning gifts from various brands. Most participants found the expo atmosphere lively and exciting.

Adding to the attractions, the expo featured Vinfast electric vehicle test drives. Visitors could explore and drive models such as: the VF 3, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9, the VF MPV 7 family car, and the EV Van cargo vehicle.
