In the suburbs of London, the morning after the transfer window closed, the phones at Premier Relocations were ringing off the hook. One Premier League player had just moved out of his mansion, expecting a move to Europe, only to sign last-minute with a club just an hour's drive away. The result: the company had to immediately move his belongings back. Another star's wife had forgotten clothes in a closet, requiring immediate retrieval.
"This job is full of surprises; no two days are the same," says Andy Wells, founder of Premier Relocations.
From Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah to Bruno Fernandes, numerous stars have used Premier Relocations' services. The company moves everything from cars and clothes to saunas and aquariums.
"We can't disclose names for security reasons, but you definitely know them," Wells says. "Every day brings new requests, even though there are only two official transfer windows."

The client list also includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, John Terry, Alan Shearer, and Fernando Torres. In 2015, after helping Torres move from Milan back to Madrid, the striker invited the Premier Relocations team to a Madrid derby. Wells joked he'd only go if Torres scored, and that day, the Spanish striker netted a brace at the Bernabeu.
The biggest challenge is time. Typically, Wells and his team have just 24 to 48 hours to complete a move after a deal is announced.
Some players own three houses in one city due to family circumstances and security concerns. Others move in and then relocate a few months later to be closer to teammates or fellow countrymen. Some experience divorces or breakups, necessitating new living arrangements.
"Sometimes, players just leave the keys and tell us to pack everything up," Wells recounts. "We've handled moves for stars returning home for the summer, waiting for their new club before shipping their belongings."

Wells also recalls helping Jurgen Klopp leave Liverpool in the summer of 2024. "He invited the whole team for pizza and beer. Usually, we're only there when managers are sacked, but Klopp chose his departure. It was a special moment. Even the local kids came for photos," Wells says.
On another occasion, to appease a player's daughter, the company had to transport a goldfish with an oxygen tank. The driver had to stop repeatedly to pump oxygen into the plastic bag, ensuring the fish's survival.
Premier Relocations has offices in London, Manchester, across Europe, and a global network. They've moved Olivier Giroud from Los Angeles back to France, and more recently, Paul Pogba to Monaco.

Premier Relocations operates from a vast warehouse filled with players' belongings, some of which have never been moved._*Italicized*_ |
Every move is meticulously documented: client name, location, items, and volume, ranging from 12.7 cubic meters (enough for a small van) to nearly 85 cubic meters (requiring a specialized trailer).
"Some players request clothes arranged by color, season, or sleeve length," reveals Dan Norton, director of operations. The warehouse holds hundreds of containers labeled with players' names, some left behind a decade ago. "One player moved in 2009, leaving 10 containers. Every Christmas, they call us to retrieve and then store their decorations."
For players, moving isn't just about logistics; it's emotional. "They're paid well, but they're pulled away from friends, family, and familiar surroundings," Wells explains. "We're there to support them, to guide them through this challenging period."
The company collaborates with the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), the League Managers Association (LMA), and most Premier League clubs. Many clients become close friends, always ready to call for help.

Wells smiles, opening WhatsApp to show a 2009 chat with Cristiano Ronaldo, when the Portuguese superstar left Man Utd for Real Madrid for a then-world-record fee. "If we were trusted to move Ronaldo, we're good enough for anyone," he says.
For fans, football is about goals, transfers, and trophies. But behind the glamour, there are those who ensure everything runs smoothly – even the transport of a goldfish.
