The VnExpress Da Nang International Marathon Herbalife Cup 2026 kicked off its race-kit distribution on 17/7, drawing thousands of participants to Bien Dong Park. Despite the hot weather, hundreds of domestic and international runners queued eagerly, counting down to the 13:00 opening of the expo area to receive their essential race materials.

This year's event has attracted over 13,000 athletes, including more than 1,000 international runners from 52 countries and territories. This strong turnout demonstrates the race's growing appeal and significant standing within the international sports community.

In its third season, the marathon features several adjustments to the route, start, and finish locations. These changes aim to ensure optimal security and facilitate smooth event organization for all participants.

The process for collecting bibs, jerseys, and item bags was streamlined into several steps, with dedicated volunteer teams supporting each stage. Each runner took approximately 10 minutes to complete the procedure efficiently.

The VnExpress Da Nang International Marathon Herbalife Cup 2026 race-kit bag contained 11 items from partners such as Cozy, Long Chau, Coco Xim, Vinamilk, and Yen Sao Khanh Hoa. Beyond products designed to replenish energy, hydrate, and restore minerals, runners also received discount vouchers for post-race recovery services.

Among those collecting their bibs on 17/7 were international runner Denis Lialikov (left) and his girlfriend. The couple shared that they have lived in Vietnam for some time and appreciate the local cuisine, culture, and people. They particularly enjoy cycling through the coastal city's routes and look forward to experiencing them during the marathon.

After collecting their bibs and race-kits, many runners explored, shopped, and participated in mini-games at the booths within the 2,000 square meter expo area. This year, over 54 booths participated in the event, organizing various activities for athletes during the two days of bib distribution.

The opening ceremony for the VnExpress Da Nang International Marathon Herbalife Cup 2026 took place at 12:00, prior to the expo opening. It was attended by representatives from the organizing committee, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, sponsors, and a lineup of elite runners.

Bib and race-kit collection will continue until 18:00 on 18/7. Subsequently, 13,000 runners will conquer the routes in the Central coastal city starting at 3:00 on 19/7. The 42km runners will start first, followed by the 21km distance at 4:00. The two 10km and 5km distances will commence at 5:30 and 6:30 respectively. The total prize value, including cash and in-kind rewards for outstanding individuals across all four distances on 19/7, exceeds 1,3 billion VND.
