Following the preliminary round (10/3-31/3), which combined reader votes and jury evaluations, organizers selected the finalists. Most categories feature five contenders. However, the "Game Viet of the Year", "excellent publisher", "excellent esports team", and "excellent gaming monitor" categories each present six nominees. Meanwhile, "most loved network provider", "most loved payment channel", "excellent esports athlete", and "excellent game developer" categories will see three nominees compete.
The final voting phase runs from 7/4 to 21/4. Results will be determined by 30% community votes and 70% scores from the expert council. However, the "excellent game developer", "global successful Vietnamese game", and "excellent Vietnamese indie game" awards will be based 100% on jury scores. Conversely, the "most loved" awards, including: "game community", "game character", "network provider", "payment channel", and "gamer drink", rely entirely on community votes.

The preliminary round, held from 10/3 to 31/3, concluded with impressive results. Over 250 nominees across four category groups garnered more than 1,8 million votes, an increase of 500.000 from last year's season. This surge in weekly votes highlights the growing interest from the community in Vietnamese game products, development teams, and core industry values.
Organizers anticipate an intense Vietnam Game Awards 2026 (VGA 2026) final round. Attention will focus on categories that received significant preliminary votes, such as: "Game Viet of the Year", "Excellent Esports Team", "Esports Tournament of the Year", "Excellent Publisher", and "Most Loved Game Community".
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 8/5 in Ho Chi Minh City, as part of Vietnam Game Day - Vietnam GameVerse 2026. Beyond the Vietnam Game Awards finals, this event, themed "Do Local - Go Global", will feature: expert forums, the Wonderland exhibition space, a cosplay competition, and professional esports tournaments. This year, organizers expect over 50.000 attendees and are expanding the business-to-business (B2B) and independent game developer areas.
The program is jointly organized by the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, VnExpress newspaper, and the Vietnam Game Alliance.
