Organizers announced this information on their fanpage on 18/3, along with a notice for ticket sales today, 19/3. The race also posted design images of the Can Tho market facade, hinting that this landmark might appear on this year's medal design or identification items. Last year, VnExpress Marathon Can Tho gained recognition for its medal design featuring a concave-fret guitar.

VnExpress Marathon Can Tho 2025 marked the first time Vietnam's largest running race series came to the Tay Nam Bo region. The event immediately garnered support from the local running community, with over 9,000 participants. Organizers hope moving the race to May will further encourage runners from the Mekong Delta region to join.

"During May-June, the southern region does not host many large-scale races. A major race in the capital of the Western region is essential for runners to maintain their training rhythm before entering the series of summer races in coastal cities," a representative from the organizing committee stated.

In May, Can Tho has not yet entered its heavy rainy season, offering cool yet dry enough weather for running. This period also marks the beginning of the peak ripening season for various fruits. Runners can combine competing with visiting orchards to enjoy rambutan, mangosteen, durian, and more.

Last year's VnExpress Marathon Can Tho course was highly praised by top runners. The route was generally flat despite crossing 14 bridges, with good road surface quality, helping many achieve unexpected personal bests. The course passed through riverside streets and familiar landmarks such as Cong vien Song Hau, Ben Ninh Kieu, and Cho noi Cai Rang.

The event stimulates tourism demand and generates revenue for Can Tho city. The city's Department of Culture and Sports committed to dedicating significant resources and coordinating with other departments to ensure race security. This effort aims to impress runners, showcasing Can Tho as a peaceful yet dynamic destination.
