For the first time in the VnExpress Marathon series, the medal is designed in the shape of a musical instrument. It replicates a traditional Mekong Delta guitar, from the neck to the distinctive fretless fingerboard. The design is inspired by Luu Huu Phuoc Park in Can Tho city center, which resembles a giant guitar when viewed from above and is considered a symbol of the city.

The body of the guitar features boats from the Cai Rang floating market converging towards the center, forming a water lily, a familiar flower of the Mekong Delta. According to the organizers, this combination depicts the region's characteristic activities and conveys a message of unity among runners.
A new feature this year is the crossbody strap, a first for VnExpress Marathon. When wearing it, runners will feel like they're carrying a real guitar, ready to "play their victory song" after crossing the finish line.
"The medal is not just an award, but a work of art embodying the spirit of the Mekong Delta. We hope each runner will feel the spirit, culture, and hospitality of Can Tho when receiving this medal," a representative of the organizing committee said.
The VnExpress Marathon Can Tho 2025 is the first race in the series to be held in the Mekong Delta. The organizers chose Can Tho as part of their strategy to expand the national running map, while also creating opportunities for runners to explore the region's unique cultural features. The course is expected to pass by Ben Ninh Kieu Wharf, Can Tho Bridge, riverside streets, and residential areas, offering an experience that combines modern city life with the beauty of the river.
The race will take place on 14/9, when the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 26-31 degrees Celsius, ideal for runners to achieve their best. Besides the race, runners can explore the Mekong Delta, visit the Cai Rang floating market, and enjoy local specialties such as banh tet la cam (sticky rice cake wrapped in magenta leaves), grilled snakehead fish, or orchard fruits. The race is expected to have 10,000 runners and is currently selling tickets for the Regular phase.
