After nearly three months since the nomination round began on 29/1, the Vietnam Game Awards 2026 is set to announce 22 winners across four categories. Readers can continue to cast their votes before the portal closes at 11:59 PM today.
According to the organizers, this year's event has seen record engagement, attracting millions of votes. Fierce competition in categories like Vietnamese Game of the Year, Outstanding Esports Team, Esports Tournament of the Year, Outstanding Publisher, and Most Loved Gaming Community has led to constant shifts in the top rankings.
The final results combine 30% of community votes with 70% from the Expert Council's evaluation. However, three specific awards – Outstanding Game Developer, Globally Successful Vietnamese Game, and Outstanding Vietnamese Indie Game – rely entirely on the Jury Council's scores. Conversely, the "most loved" categories, including: Gaming Community, Game Character, Network Provider, Payment Channel, and Gamer Beverage, are determined solely by community votes.

The preliminary round, held from 10/3 to 31/3, concluded with impressive figures. Over 250 nominations garnered a total of 1.8 million votes, marking an increase of half a million votes compared to last year's season.
This year's award system is divided into four main groups, designed to comprehensively honor the industry's ecosystem: The Golden Galaxy recognizes international games released in Vietnam, acknowledging their popularity and community impact. The Golden Sun focuses on games developed by Vietnamese studios. The Golden Star celebrates outstanding individuals, teams, and esports tournaments. The Golden Gear highlights supporting products, services, and platforms.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 8/5 in TP HCM, as part of Vietnam GameVerse 2026 – the Vietnam Game Festival. Beyond the Vietnam Game Awards finals, this event, themed "Do Local - Go Global", offers various activities: an expert dialogue forum, the Wonderland exhibition space, a cosplay competition, and professional esports tournaments. Organizers expect over 50,000 attendees this year and plan to expand the business-to-business (B2B) and independent game developer areas.
The program is jointly organized by the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, VnExpress newspaper, and the Vietnam Game Alliance.
