Speaking on beIN Sports, Wenger highly praised the tactical imprint Michael Carrick made in less than two weeks at the helm of Man Utd. According to Wenger, the "Red Devils" played convincingly and showed clear progress in their two consecutive victories against Man City and Arsenal.

Wenger suggested there was a notable connection in how Man Utd overcame two major rivals consecutively. "I think something is happening at Man Utd, in the way they defeated Man City and Arsenal", he stated. "Man Utd's ability to maintain their game and competitive mentality improved, even after Arsenal equalized 2-2 at Emirates Stadium."
According to Wenger, in such high-stakes matches, the home team usually has the advantage after equalizing. However, Man Utd under Carrick still found the resources to score a third goal, securing a 3-2 victory. "To win away in such a big match, I must congratulate Carrick. He created something special", Wenger added.
The former Arsenal coach observed that Man Utd's playing style demonstrated high cohesion and organization. Their ball distribution was well-structured, with strong links between lines and maintaining balance in both defense and attack. Carrick found a suitable formula, helping the team achieve the necessary stability.

Conversely, the 76-year-old former coach pointed out shortcomings in Arsenal's play. Despite still leading the Premier League by 4 points after 23 rounds, the "Gunners" showed vulnerabilities by conceding three goals at home. "When you concede three goals at Emirates, it's very difficult to win", Wenger remarked.
He suggested that the goals partly reflected the difference in the two teams' approaches. Man Utd played "more organized and connected", while Arsenal relied more on "strength and set-piece situations", as seen in their 2-2 equalizer.
Wenger also believed Arsenal lacked patience and technical cohesion. Their attacking sequences were not as fluid as usual. This was a rare occasion where Wenger felt Arsenal's central defenders played with uncertainty and did not maintain their usual dominance.
Wenger, 76, has served as FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development since 2019. He is renowned for managing Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, leading the team to three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, and seven Community Shields.
