Nominations for the Vietnam Game Awards 2026 opened at 15h on 29/1. The nomination period extends until 25/2, covering 21 award categories.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs the Vietnam Game Awards 2026. The Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, the Vietnam Game Alliance, and media sponsorship units coordinate the program.
The awards are divided into four main category groups, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the Vietnamese game industry:
- The golden galaxy group: This group honors games and publishers operating in the Vietnamese market. Key categories include: Game of the year, timeless game, excellent publisher, most loved game community, and most loved game character.
- The golden sun group: Dedicated to games developed by Vietnamese creators, this group's categories include: Vietnamese game of the year, excellent indie game, excellent graphics design or gameplay, globally successful Vietnamese game, and excellent game developer.
- The golden star group: This group of awards is dedicated to esports. It includes: Excellent esports title, excellent esports team, excellent esports athlete, and esports tournament of the year.
- The golden gear group: This group honors products and services that support the gaming community. Categories include: Gaming laptop, gaming phone, gaming monitor, network provider, payment channel, and most loved product, beverage by gamers.
Participating game titles must be licensed and released in Vietnam between 25/2/2025 and 29/1. Some categories have specific conditions:
Timeless game, globally successful Vietnamese game, esports title: no release time limit.
Excellent Vietnamese indie game: developed by individuals or teams of fewer than 20 people.
The awards are organized through three main stages:
Nomination round:
Time: 29/1 – 25/2.
Receiving valid nomination applications.
Preliminary round:
Time: 10/3 – 31/3.
Scoring method: 50% from reader votes and 50% from expert council evaluation.
Final round:
Time: 7/4 – 21/4.
Three or five nominations with the highest scores advance to the finals.
Scoring method: 70% from the judging panel and 30% from the community. For "most loved" categories: 100% based on reader votes.
The Vietnam Game Awards 2026 is a central activity within the framework of Vietnam Game Festival (Vietnam GameVerse) 2026. The 2026 event bears the theme "Do Local - Go Global", emphasizing the goals of: improving the quality of human resources in the game industry, promoting technology transfer, and promoting "make in Vietnam" game brands to the international market.
