A tropical depression has formed near the East Sea, with Vietnamese and international meteorological agencies predicting a low chance of it strengthening into a typhoon.
For nearly a day, typhoon Koto has moved slowly, maintaining category 9 strength, and is forecast to weaken into a tropical depression off the coast of Gia Lai - Dak Lak.
Before entering the East Sea, the tropical depression is expected to intensify into a typhoon, with forecasts predicting peak speeds of 110 km/h, equivalent to level 11.
