Cross-Vietnam train tour priced at 1.7 billion VND to launch soon

An 8-day, 7-night journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City on the SJourney train will cost up to 1.7 billion VND per guest, with the introduction of two ultra-luxury room categories offering personalized privileges.

On 5/6, Nguyen Thi Minh Hien, Marketing Manager of SJourney, announced that the SJourney train will introduce new Imperial Suite and Suite room categories in October. The 8-day, 7-night tour for these two room categories will be priced at approximately 6,400 USD (1.7 billion VND) and 3,200 USD (860 million VND) per guest, respectively.

Guests booking these two premium room categories will depart alongside those on regular room tours (priced at about 200 million VND per person), following a similar itinerary but with added exclusive privileges.

The Imperial Suite spans 51 square meters, occupying an entire train car – equivalent to three standard rooms; the Suite room is 17 square meters. Each train car features two Suites. The SJourney train has a limit of 13 cars, so from October, some cars will be reconfigured to accommodate the two new room categories.

The design of both the Imperial Suite and Suite maintains the Indochine style, consistent with the other cars. However, all interior furnishings will be upgraded to match the premium pricing.

Guests selecting these two room categories will have a small balcony to enjoy the views during the journey, instead of looking through a window like in standard rooms. Additionally, guests will receive several exclusive privileges, including: a butler, a custom-designed menu, VIP transfer services, and various personalized experiences throughout the trip.

In addition to launching the Imperial Suite car, SJourney representatives announced the addition of a premium restaurant to serve all guests on the train. Imperial Suite and Suite guests can request private use of the restaurant if desired.

Currently, the SJourney train operates 4-6 trips monthly with two main itineraries: an 8-day, 7-night journey (Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa) and a 4-day, 3-night journey (Hanoi - Sa Pa - Ha Long and Ho Chi Minh City - Hoi An). At each stop, guests enjoy local culinary and cultural experiences before reboarding for the next destination.

In Hoi An, guests will ride a jeep to admire the countryside and explore traditional craft villages. In Nha Trang, the group will board a yacht for a day cruise of the bay and enjoy a local-style lunch on board.

Since its launch in 12/2024, SJourney has served over 2,000 guests, primarily from North America, Western Europe, Australia, and certain high-spending Asian countries. During peak season (September to April), the train is often fully booked.

"After about 1.5 years of operation, SJourney offers a slow, luxurious, and distinct travel experience," Hien stated, adding that the company has received positive feedback from international guests.
